Court: Emoluments Case Against Trump Can Proceed

The Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit today reversed a lower court's ruling and is allowing an emoluments lawsuit against corrupt con man and malignant narcissist Donald "Rump" Trump to proceed. The lawsuit, brought by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), maintains that Trump is violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution by not putting his business in a blind trust, and profiting from business done at his properties:
Watchdogs have raised concerns about the president's decision not to put his company in a blind trust, noting that lobbyists, foreign officials and political insiders may frequent his businesses to earn favor with the administration.

The issue has gained new urgency as lawmakers and watchdogs raise concerns about government officials' use of Trump properties.

The president last month suggested he may host world leaders at next year's Group of Seven (G-7) summit at his Doral resort near Miami, and the Air Force is looking into its pilots habit of staying at Trump's property in Turnberry, Scotland, while refueling.
The ruling will also bolster efforts by the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives, which is considering Trump's profiting as a "high crime and misdemeanor" under the impeachment clause.

He's making no effort to conceal his corruption and his desire to profit from his position, whether it's favor-seeking patronage at his various properties, or "deals" he's likely made in secret with foreign autocrats for future business. He's relying on the rotted out Republican Party and its political leadership to turn a blind eye to it, and they're obliging him.

BONUS In another reversal by the same appeals court today affecting the communications arm of the Republican Party --
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit just resurrected a case against Fox News, ruling that pushing a false story about Seth Rich’s death could, indeed, amount to committing an actionable tort against Seth’s parents.  [snip]
The court’s decision, of course, does not mean that the Rich family wins its case against Fox News and its staffers. It simply means that the case is permitted to proceed to trial. Now, Joel and Mary Rich have the burden of providing evidence to prove what they’ve alleged.  The case will now proceed through discovery and perhaps trial (or more likely, settlement).
The Fox ghouls who were responsible for doing this to the Rich family need to be held accountable. Now, at least, there's a chance they will.
