The Leaker-In-Chief And His Russian Friends

After Russian asset and corrupt demagogue Donald "The Chosen One" Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and former Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak in the Oval Office in May 2017, the intelligence community was forced to extract a deep cover agent from within the Russian government, fearing for the agent's safety. CNN is reporting that concerns over Trump's mishandling of classified information prompted the covert extraction of the spy:
"The decision to carry out the extraction occurred soon after a May 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in which Trump discussed highly classified intelligence with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and then-Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak. The intelligence, concerning ISIS in Syria, had been provided by Israel.

The disclosure to the Russians by the President, though not about the Russian spy specifically, prompted intelligence officials to renew earlier discussions about the potential risk of exposure, according to the source directly involved in the matter."
At the time of the Oval Office meeting, which was attended only by reporters from the official Russian news agency TASS, there was an active counterintelligence investigation into individuals involved in the Trump campaign and Russian officials. In addition, he had just fired former FBI Director Comey because of "this Russia thing." Trump has consistently sided with the Russians over his own intelligence community regarding the Kremlin's interference in the 2016 elections, and appeared to support Russia's foreign policy objectives to the detriment of the Western alliance. The intelligence community had additional concerns about Trump's behavior in interactions with the Russians, according to the CNN report:
"Those concerns continued to grow in the period after Trump's Oval Office meeting with Kislyak and Lavrov. Weeks after the decision to extract the spy, in July 2017, Trump met privately with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Hamburg and took the unusual step of confiscating the interpreter's notes. Afterward, intelligence officials again expressed concern that the President may have improperly discussed classified intelligence with Russia, according to an intelligence source with knowledge of the intelligence community's response to the Trump-Putin meeting." (our emphasis)
Trump is compromised and corrupt, and the Russians know his business is dependent on them for financial support. It's right that the intelligence community is taking steps to protect our intelligence assets from this reckless, treasonous fool.
