Senate Rethuglican leader and NRA errand boy Sen. Mitch "Massacre Mitch" McConnell said today that he was going to wait until next week for sociopath and pathological liar Donald "The Chosen One" Trump to decide on gun safety legislation, including the widely popular expansion of background checks. Trump, of course, has shifted back and forth on the issue, depending on whether the evil head of the National Rifle Association yanks his chain and aligns him with the gun lobby's no compromise position.
McConnell has been stalling action on any gun safety legislation, afraid to stick his weak chin out without Trump's blessing:
“The administration is in the process of studying what they are prepared to support, if anything. And I expect to get an answer to that next week. I said several weeks ago that if the president took a position on a bill so that we knew we would actually be making a law and not just having serial votes, I’d be happy to put it on the floor.”"Process of studying." Yes, the studying will go on as long as it takes for the public to shift its interest. Massacre Mitch is also afraid of losing his narrow Senate majority if gun nuts rebel against Rethuglicans for voting for any gun safety legislation. They need to be voted out, and the voters in Kentucky should start with Massacre Mitch first, and put the excellent Amy McGrath in the Senate.
