There's new reporting on beer-and-fondle
There must be a full Congressional investigation to determine whether someone, and if so who, gave orders that kept the FBI from investigating credible allegations & speaking to witnesses who reached out to them. We were told this was a full investigation. https://t.co/sp6JhfJZti— Joyce Alene (@JoyceWhiteVance) September 15, 2019
NY Times find 7 people who heard about the Ramirez incident years before. But per WH instructions, and Senate R insistence, the FBI interviewed none of them or 18 other witnesses. The renewed background investigation was a total con job.https://t.co/MoeVUv0dce— Harry Litman (@harrylitman) September 14, 2019
Been thinking about Lindsey Graham exploding in white-hot rage at the horrific injustice of Brett Kavanaugh being forced to answer questions about his drinking and treatment of women.— Paul Waldman (@paulwaldman1) September 15, 2019
The FBI investigation was hamstrung by GOP senators, who then used the lack of findings to push the nomination through https://t.co/5cs7cmqjvY— Garance Franke-Ruta (@thegarance) September 15, 2019
If you’re wondering why we are just learning now about new evidence Kavanaugh committed sexual assault, it’s because Susan Collins and Cory Gardner wanted the pre-confirmation investigation to be a sham, and so it was. This isn’t hindsight. I said it then. https://t.co/FFToMMqNvb— Jamison Foser (@jamisonfoser) September 15, 2019
Every single senator who voted for Brett Kavanaugh despite the clear obfuscation and obstruction of the investigation into his history of sexual assault should feel deeply ashamed. It is an enormous tragedy of the democratic process.— Charlotte Clymer🏳️🌈 (@cmclymer) September 15, 2019
As with Trump, impeachment of Kavanaugh should not be considered merely an option. It is a moral obligation.— David Rothkopf (@djrothkopf) September 15, 2019
“Ramirez’s legal team gave the F.B.I. a list of at least 25 individuals who may have had corroborating evidence. But the bureau...interviewed none of them, though we learned many of these potential witnesses tried in vain to reach the F.B.I.” https://t.co/i3biS6D9f2— Tim O'Brien (@TimOBrien) September 15, 2019
It should be noted that in a tweet promoting their story, the New York Times disgraced itself by casually referring to the "penis in the face" incident with Ms. Ramirez as "harmless fun", only to double down by saying that the tweet was "poorly phrased." Someone should be fired over that "poorly phrased" description. (Only after much criticism did the Times finally tweet out: "We deleted a previous tweet regarding this article. It was offensive, and we apologize." Damage already done to its tattered reputation.)
