Weekend Good Earth Music Twofer

Our faithful blog musical curator and Silver Spring Bureau Chief Brian has once again struck gold, directing us to The Feelies and their 1986 album "The Good Earth" (appropriate title for today's Global Climate Day Strike). And it's quite an album.  The songs are full of striking, uncluttered guitar work and percussive, driving drums.  Band members Glenn Mercer and Bill Million wrote all the songs and traded off on lead and rhythm guitars.  This New Jersey based group was influenced by the Velvet Underground and in turn influenced R.E.M. (whose Peter Buck co- produced "The Good Earth").   You should sample the entire album for yourself, but today we're picking "The High Road" and the title cut "The Good Earth" for you.  Hope you enjoy.
