Matt Gaetz storming a SCIF to shut down an investigation, Matt Whitaker stating abuse of power is not a crime, and Trump’s lawyer arguing he can’t even be investigated for shooting someone really is the perfect encapsulation of the GOP’s current attitude towards the rule of law.— Matthew Miller (@matthewamiller) October 23, 2019
The past three years have taught us that there are people whose love of getting their way outweighs their interest in the republic, democracy, anti-corruption, human rights, and national security. The past few weeks have started to reveal just how far they'll go to stay in power.— Walter Shaub (@waltshaub) October 23, 2019
Today’s storming of the House Intel Committee must not be trivialized as a stunt. Nor is the biggest problem with it the flouting of national security safeguards. It is an indication of how GOP electeds are willing to use force to insulate Trump from rule of law. 4/4— Heidi Li Feldman (@HeidiLiFeldman) October 23, 2019
Evergreen:
It will be said of House Republicans,— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) October 21, 2019
When they found they lacked the courage to confront the most dangerous and unethical president in American history,
They consoled themselves by attacking those who did.
The chuckleheads broke House rules in brand new ways. They disrupted a testimony because they claimed it was held in secret, yet there is representation by Republicans in the procedure, so that claim falls short. They charged, physically, into a private session, with cell phones waving around, and one or more of them sent videos from their phones. IT IS A SECURE SITE! They broke the law, plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteThey had support from Trump, who approved it in advance, and they chose a day when Nancy Pelosi was away at her brother's funeral. They are despicable. They are full of shit. They grandstanded and impeded a legal process simply to disrupt what is turning out to be damning testimony against Trump and his fellow conspirators. It was all about getting clicks and coverage for FOX viewers who are unhappy with the exposure of their criminal president.
Confiscate their phones. Punish them however possible, but don't make a big show of it, because they love martyrdom. Penalize them with fines if possible.
disgusting
donnah -- can't argue with that!
