Netanyahu Indicted On Fraud, Bribery, Breach Of Trust
Far right-wing Israeli Prime Minister Bibi "Bibi Bomb Bomb" Netanyahu, a close ally of corrupt Donald "Impeachable Me" Trump, has been indicted on charges of fraud, bribery and breach of trust, following nearly three years of investigations by Israeli prosecutors. The charges stem from allegations that Netanhahu intervened in regulatory matters with two Israeli media outlets in exchange for favorable press coverage, and that his wife accepted some $260,000 in luxury items in return for political favors. Using borrowed Trumpian language, Netanyahu has claimed that the prosecution was a "witch hunt."
The indictment comes at the beginning of a three-week window during which any member of the Knesset, Israel's parliament, can form a government, something that Netanyahu and his chief rival, former General Benny Ganz, have so far failed to do in a closely split electorate. It's unclear whether the indictment will keep Netanyahu from leading efforts to form a coalition government while he appeals the charges.
