Weekend Painting Box Music

A happy 75th birthday to Mike Heron, of Scotland's pioneering The Incredible String Band.  "Painting Box" is a song written by Heron and released on the band's "The 5000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion" album in 1967.  Robin Williamson has a nice flute interlude starting after the 2:00 mark. While often overlooked in their era (their acoustic performance at Woodstock was cut out of the more rock- heavy eponymous film), ISB was influential in the spread of folk and world music idioms. Sir Paul McCartney dubbed this album as his favorite release of 1967 (where there was heavy competition, to say the least).  Hope you enjoy.
