Mid-Week Tribute: A "Drummer's Drummer"

When Canada's most illustrious rock band Rush played, the drum solos of Neil Peart were for many the major draw. He was hailed by many fellow rock drummers and music critics as one of the greatest of all time. Drummer, lyricist and writer Peart died a few days ago of brain cancer at the age of 67. As a tribute in Rolling Stone noted,
"Peart was a drummer’s drummer, beloved by his peers; he won prizes in Modern Drummer’s annual readers’ poll 38 times, and was a formative influence on countless young players. 'His power, precision, and composition was incomparable,' Dave Grohl said in a statement released Friday. 'He was called ‘The Professor’ for a reason: We all learned from him.'”
We don't have a single song featuring his legendary skill, but instead offer this compilation of his solos from the Canadian Broadcasting Company in honor of him. RIP.
