Abuse Scandal: "Gym" Jordan Cried, Groveled To Me

Rabid right-wing Trumpist Rep. Jim "Gym" Jordan can't shake accusations that he knew about ongoing sexual assaults at "the" Ohio State University (OSU) while serving as an assistant wrestling coach there from 1987 to 1995. During testimony before Ohio state legislators yesterday in Columbus, the former captain of the OSU wrestling team Adam DiSabato told the legislators that Gym and other officials knew about the team shower facilities that former team doctor Richard Strauss visited to harass and molest wrestlers, but failed to act. DiSabato then stated that Gym tried to get him to refute his brother Michael's claim that Jordan and others knew of Strauss' abusive behavior:

"He also said Jordan called him repeatedly in July 2018, after media outlets quoted his brother, Michael DiSabato, saying Strauss’ abuse was common knowledge to those surrounding the wrestling program, including Jordan.

'Jim Jordan called me crying, groveling… begging me to go against my brother…That’s the kind of cover-up that’s going on there,' he said." (our emphasis)

OSU is the subject of several lawsuits over the abuse scandal, and while Gym isn't specifically mentioned thus far, he's expected to be named in subsequent court filings.

Gym represents a deep red district in Ohio, and this scandal didn't seem to affect him in 2018. His hypocritical supporters will overlook any travesty he's associated with, so sadly, we'll likely see this unhinged clown back in Congress next year. Republican family values people!
