New York Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney speaks for us when he took to MSNBC this morning to condemn the cowardly Republican Senators who are trying to weasel their way out of responsibility for the purging of people like Lt. Col Alexander Vindman, his brother Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, and others who testified, or those about to be purged, by vindictive cheater and demagogue Donald "Impeached Forever" Trump:
“You’re seeing vulnerable Republicans, after the fact, try to cover their butts by leaking to the New York Times that they want us all to know they were deeply troubled by this. And even though they took a vote that could have absolutely guaranteed that people like Lt. Col. Vindman would be hurt, would be made to pay the price for their fecklessness, for their cowardice, they want us to know they were troubled by it. They’re going to continue to support this president, but they want the New York Times to know they secretly know it’s wrong. Spare me. That’s what I mean. I don’t need phony off-the-record after-the-fact friends.” (our emphasis)Maloney was referring to this article referring to the Republican Senators' "concern" about the sacking of former Ambassador to the European Union Gordon "Quid Pro Quo" Sondland. Kudos to Rep. Maloney for calling it out. We need more of this shaming.
