The Culling Continues: Steyer Out
After former VP Joe Biden's decisive win yesterday in South Carolina, the Dem race is getting better defined. Super Tuesday should cull the field further. Last night, it was former hedge fund billionaire and activist Tom Steyer who dropped out, finishing third and below the 15% threshold needed to win delegates.
Steyer used his "Need To Impeach" movement to gain a following (and mailing list), and despite saying he wouldn't run for President, ran anyway. One of the tone deaf proposals he brought up in an ad was "term limits", a cynical Rethuglican-originated proposal from decades ago when they were in the perpetual minority in Congress. It's too bad the mega millions he spent on his vanity campaign could have been applied to winning the Senate and keeping the House. Lesson learned.
