So now 100,000 deaths from the coronavirus are a measure of "success," according to sociopath and pathological liar Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump who had a "virtual town hall" last night at, of all places, the Lincoln Memorial under Lincoln's mortified gaze. The death count goalposts keep getting moved, when not long ago Trump declared 65,000 deaths would be a sign of success (as of this morning, there we 68,268 deaths from the virus).
Knowing that his reelection depends on a rapid economic recovery, and not caring about the spread of the virus, Trump continued to push reopening states' economies, often against the position of their governors who are still seeing cases rise. He doesn't care that the states that are opening quickly are violating his own three-phase plan for a "safe" reopening of their economies. He viewed the plan as an obstacle to his political survival, and has been egging on his right-wing cultists to take their reopen (the virus) demands to state capitols, armed if possible.
BONUS: A poll of 22,000 voters in each of the 50 states indicates they give far better marks to their governors than they give to COVID Donnie for handling the response to the pandemic. The light is dawning on many Americans as to who is the fraud and the buck-passer.
BONUS II: In response to a caller (a supporter) who talked about his "bullying" language, Trump shifted to complaining about how the press didn't treat him fairly, saying he'd been treated "worse than Lincoln." Perfect --
