Golf Vs. Church: Trump Chooses Golf

For a second day in a row, on a weekend where the death toll from COVID-10 is nearing 100,000 people (including 36,000 deaths that were preventable), callous sociopath and mentally unstable demagogue Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump golfed at his club in Sterling, VA.  It was a day that he had told his cult members to flock back to their churches, in defiance of social distancing health standards, issuing an empty threat to Governors that he would "override" stay at home orders, despite no authority to do so.

If Trump didn't think his religious right followers were pathetic sheep who view him in divine terms, he might have made a cynical trip to church. But his evangelical cultists don't care that he's the model of behavior that is anathema to their supposed beliefs; they even defend it the more it's displayed. That's why he feels free to golf on Sunday, rather than share the viral spread with them.

Evangelicals see him as God's Chosen One, who will do everything to help their causes. He's helped seat many lower court judges and of course Supreme Court judges, all of whom will vote the way the Religious Right pays them to. They acknowledge his sins but believe God will redeem him, so they pretend he is a good man underneath all of his terrible acts.

donnah -- Imagine the delusional state you'd have to be in to see Trump as anything but malevolent and wicked, judicial appointments aside. If only "selling their souls" just involved them individually, and not the entire nation and world....
