Happy Mother's Day

"It may be possible to gild pure gold, but who can make his mother more beautiful?" -- Mahatma Gandhi, "An Autobiography" (1927).

To honor all mothers, past, present and future, have a safe and loving Mother's Day.

Thanks! I'm a mom to three grown men and they mean the absolute world to me. They're all sequestered away, working from home, and the middle son will resume his electrician's job this coming week. As a good mom, I've admonished him already to wear his mask and bring hand sanitizer. I know he'll be careful, but I'll worry.

I'll miss them today, when we would have had a family dinner together. My husband and I are going to visit his mom, who's 90, and bring her lunch, and later my mom, who's 85, and bring her dinner. That's the limit of exposure we can manage, as I've stayed isolated and my husband has made only careful excursions to the grocery store.

It will be another odd holiday, but we're all still alive and well, so I'm taking that and keeping it as its own gift.

Happy Mother's Day!
