Mid-Week Song: Sunshine

Today marks the 70th birthday of an American musical treasure, Stevland Hardaway Morris, better known as Stevie Wonder.  In a career spanning over 50 years, Wonder has been one of the most successful and impactful artists of this era. He's won an impressive 25 Grammy awards, the most by a solo artist, and is credited with more than 30 top ten hits. In 2014, Wonder was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama.

In 2011, Wonder gave a concert at the White House before an audience that included the first African American President, and Vice President Joe Biden, and their wives. Blind since birth, Wonder's Grammy-winning song "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" carried special meaning when he performed it then. Happy birthday to an American original.
