The de facto Trump COVID-19 advisory panel is busy filling his empty head:
Fox & Friends this morning is just a non-stop attack on social distancing measures and endless demands to reopen the economy. pic.twitter.com/5obu3dOVTn— Matthew Gertz (@MattGertz) May 5, 2020
I’m sorry ... are they actually filming these segments from their own separate locations? https://t.co/igyzZFSAYD— Kevin M. Kruse (@KevinMKruse) May 5, 2020
You know, when people look back at this time in american life, there will be lots of obvious examples of where partisanship endangered public health, like this one https://t.co/1GWQslQLIr— Molly Jong-Fastš” (@MollyJongFast) May 5, 2020
This isn't partisanship, it's propaganda. She's a propagandist for a regime actively trying to kill us. She's a monster. Historically, the law does not smile on such figures when their corrupt regimes topple.— Greg Olear (@gregolear) May 5, 2020
Laura Ingraham has always been opposed to social distancing and preventing the spread of disease. That’s why she never wears her Klan hood in public.— The Volatile Mermaid (@OhNoSheTwitnt) May 5, 2020
Social Darwinism (and its various branches like eugenics and objectivism) has always been at the heart of the Republican Party's world view. COVID-19 and its economic impacts have just caused it to be brought to the surface in all its ugliness (see also post below).
Republicans are against anything that's bad for business, every time, all the time. When that conflicts with their supposed "Sanctity of Life" stance, they go with the money. Everything else is just voter bait.
ReplyDeleteFox is showing us this explicitly. They've been against taking the coronavirus seriously since day one. Why? Their rich backers lose money in a stressed economy. (Meaning they may become Regular Rich instead of Filthy Rich.)
bluzdude -- nailed it!
ReplyDeleteAnyone looking at the rate of infection can see the baby steps this nation took, including social distancing significantly bent the rate of infection down. So now after seven weeks piss it all away as rich white people now know how to mostly avoid getting sick, screw the front line workers and the poors.
ReplyDeleteMart -- that's exactly what's going on, and it's repulsive: go to work or lose your job and no unemployment for you!
