Barr's Friday Night Coup Attempt At SDNY

The.  most.  corrupt.  administration.  ever.

In Friday night's news "dead zone," thoroughly corrupt Trump crime family consigliere William "Low" Barr announced that U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman would be "stepping down," a move Berman immediately disputed:

It's well known that the SDNY, also known as the Sovereign District, has been deeply involved in corruption prosecutions touching on Trump associates and potentially Trump himself:
Mr. Berman, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, and his team have been at the forefront of corruption inquiries in Mr. Trump’s inner circle. They successfully prosecuted the president’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who went to prison, and have been investigating Mr. Trump’s current personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani. [snip]
Over the last year, Mr. Berman’s office brought indictments against two close associates of the president’s current lawyer, Mr. Giuliani, and began an investigation into Mr. Giuliani himself, focusing on whether his efforts to dig up dirt in Ukraine on the president’s political rivals violated laws on lobbying for foreign entities.
Mr. Berman’s office also conducted an investigation into Mr. Trump’s inaugural committee, subpoenaing financial and other records as part of a broad inquiry into possible illegal contributions from foreigners. [snip]
Mr. Barr’s move to dismiss Mr. Berman came just days after Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, John Bolton, alleged in a new book that Mr. Trump sought to interfere in an investigation by Mr. Berman’s office into a Turkish bank, in a bid to cut deals with the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
That's a lot of sleaze for Low Barr to try to make disappear 5 months before the election.  But he's trying to place another "fixer" in Berman's stead to keep the lid on for unindicted co- conspirator #1::
His replacement will be Jay Clayton — who previously represented Deutsche Bank, one of President Donald Trump’s most significant business creditors, from allegations they facilitated Russian money laundering.
Berman and the professional prosecutors at the SDNY have their work cut out for them in preserving evidence of crimes committed by Trump cronies and hangers- on, as well as whatever has been developed in investigating the the Deutsche Bank money laundering caper.  The interference in on- going investigations by Low Barr on behalf of Trump has now become and almost routine part of the unprecedented corruption, obstruction of justice, and garden- variety lawbreaking by this entire gang of treasonous crooks.  Kudos to Berman for standing up to it.

Meanwhile, Berman is being invited to testify to the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday:

We'll be watching.

Barr is Trump's right hand and since they're both egomaniacal thugs, they both believe that they can do whatever they want to. Investigations getting too far into Giuliani's criminal activity? Dump the prosecutor! Do they file a trumped-up (pun intended) complaint against Berman and try to get rid of him through the proper channels? Of course not! They just announce his resignation!

Luckily, he told them “Not so fast” and while they likely can still get rid of him, he can testify against them in front of the House this this week and be on the record. He's got guts and he won't be silenced.

Trump and Barr should be in prison. Let's vote Trump out and immediately begin the process of putting him and his cronies there.
