Trump's Baghdad Bob
When demagogue and pathological liar Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump plucked Fux yakker and man-who-can't-get-anything-right Larry "Krudlow" Kudlow from growing obscurity, he got a serious clunker. Of course, his regime is full of clunkers who can't work anywhere but Fux or the White (Supremacist) House. Now, Trump is using him as his regime's Baghdad Bob, the infamous liar for Saddam Hussein, who engaged in patently false happy talk.
Among his greatest hits, Kudlow was the genius that predicted that the 2008 Wall Street / housing market crash wasn't going to happen, and who kept promoting the discredited trickle down "supply side economics" quackery long after it failed. In late February, Kudlow ridiculously stated of the coronavirus, "We have contained this. I won’t say [it’s] airtight, but it’s pretty close to airtight.” Just a few weeks later, COVID-19 had become a pandemic, shutting down the economy and causing tens of thousands of deaths.
Yesterday, appearing on CNN, Kudlow tipped his cult leader's hand again by throwing cold water on a continuation of the additional $600 per week unemployment benefits under the CARES Act, calling it a disincentive for people to go back to work. Forcing people in desperate financial straits to return to unsafe conditions at their workplace before the virus is contained is the Trumpian way. He thinks he can revive the economy -- and his reelection prospects -- by forcing people back to work just as COVID-19 is spreading in nearly two dozen states. In Kudlow, he has a lying propagandist, who is used to spinning nonsense for Rethuglicans, no matter the cost in lives.
