Covidiot Republican Governor Banning Cities From Enacting Mask Mandates

As the coronavirus pandemic surges in Georgia, Republican covidiot Gov. Brian Kemp has now charted a course that even other God Trump- fearing Republican monsters have eschewed:

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) signed an executive order Wednesday night explicitly banning cities from enacting their own mask mandates, even as the state experiences a sharp rise in coronavirus cases and other Republican governors are turning to mask orders to try to quell the surge.

Kemp’s order voids existing mask mandates in more than a dozen cities or counties, while also extending other coronavirus social-distancing restrictions statewide.

The governor had previously tried to ban cities and counties from passing any coronavirus restrictions that went further than Georgia’s guidelines. But many cities, including Atlanta, defied him by passing mask mandates anyway, arguing it was essential to flatten the curve. Kemp’s new order “strongly encourages” masks.

Local officials who had issued mask mandates as hospitals filled up were outraged Wednesday night as Kemp overrode their judgment. The order came on the same day Georgia recorded its second-highest number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, logging 3,871 cases and 37 deaths.

Mask mandates have been put in place by no less Trump- fearing governors than Abbott in Texas (for most counties) and Ivey in Alabama (statewide).

But the cretin who, corruptly using his office as Georgia Secretary of State, fixed the 2018 election to rob Stacey Abrams of the governorship, is too much of a coward to look out for the interests of all the people of Georgia.  He's also dumb as a bag of hammers (no offense meant to hammers) who prematurely opened the state against even moron vector COVID Donnie's wishes, and claimed to not have a clue about asymptomatic transmission.  From April:

Kemp was overwhelmingly criticized for his astonishing lack of knowledge about the disease and, obviously, rightly so. But apparently, instead of laying low for a while, listening to experts, and taking the steps necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19 in his state—where cases have continued to rise—he’s decided to double down on his image as a wildly ignorant politician who doesn’t avail himself of easily accessible information, listen to public health experts, or take the necessary steps to avoid reopening the economy too early and causing an even greater spike in cases. Because not only is he allowing some companies to get back to business on Friday, he seemingly asked for a list of the places where people were most likely to contract the disease and said, Let’s start with those...

So now, after having even more time to survey the wreckage of his ignorant "policies," Kemp has decided to confound those pointy- headed experts again and bar localities from mandating one of the most proven life- saving measures.

We're envisioning Gov. Stacey Abrams in this scenario, and all we can say is elections have (sometimes deadly) consequences.
