Back in November 2016, I knew shit would be a nightmare with trump. But the unidentified camo storm troopers snatching people off the streets of Portland is a new level terror.

When the Right screams about jackbooted thugs taking away their guns,we mock them because we know that the Left would never do that. What we're seeing here isn't projection, it isn't irony, it's the manifestation of an ongoing hero fantasy where they see the Left as their enemy. They choose us as the enemy because they see us as easy to beat in a physical fight. And they're right. I may be larger and stronger than most of them, I would never hurt another person. I couldn't live with myself.

Many years ago, the roommate of a friend of mine wanted to be a County Sheriff. She was a nice enough lady, a bit bossy, but caring. She went through the academy and was excited to wear the uniform. Before she could go into the field, all new recruits were required to serve as guards in the county jail for a year. This changed her completely. She was angry all the time, and became constantly belligerent. This was before for-profit prisons, and pervasive validation of right wing authoritarianism. I can imagine that, if these are indeed prison guards, they are there to do damage. Their physical and mental training has been for exactly this purpose.

This cannot stand.

Many, many people need to be taken away from the public for this. This isn't America.

BB-- there's no question, it's definitely ramping up with this king of official thuggery.

Czippy -- the right's definitely looking for confrontations via both militia- type groups and, now, from the Trump Praetorian Guard. It's hard to contemplate much less talk about the logical extension of what's going on, but if there is an attempt to interfere with or overturn a legitimate election, we may be forced to act in self- defense and in defense of the Constitution.
