Biden Condemns Trump's "Encouraging Violence"

In a further move to stoke racial tension and fear, and to rile up his cult, unfit demagogue and bigot Donald "Very Fine People" Trump intends to go to Kenosha, WI tomorrow, just days after a violent supporter of his shot and killed two people and wounded a third. His presence there is opposed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who asked Trump to reconsider the trip, and who knows that Trump is a magnet for his violent, armed cult members who are looking to engage with Black Lives Matter protesters.

Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden will speak today in Pittsburgh on the racial reckoning underway and Trump's failure to protect America from the COVID-19 pandemic. Yesterday, he issued a statement aimed directly at Trump's need to provoke violence for political gain:
"We must not become a country at war with ourselves. A country that accepts the killing of fellow Americans who do not agree with you. A country that vows vengeance toward one another. But that is the America that President Trump wants us to be, the America he believes we are. [snip]
What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hate and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters? He is recklessly encouraging violence.
He may believe tweeting about law and order makes him strong — but his failure to call on his supporters to stop seeking conflict shows just how weak he is. He may think that war in our streets is good for his re-election chances, but that is not presidential leadership — or even basic human compassion. [snip]
Donald Trump has been president for almost four years. The temperature in the country is higher, tensions run stronger, divisions run deeper. And all of us are less safe because Donald Trump can’t do the job of the American president." (our emphasis)
Sixty-three days until election day, and earlier if you take advantage of early voting or vote by mail. This is a fight to stop the slide toward fascism, led by a lawless, mentally unstable con man.

Long wondered why Trump inciting violence (and I will pay the legal bills) at his rallies was not treated as a crime. Now he is encouraging folks to shoot at one another. But there are looters on the other side, says the press, so what you gonna do?
