Senate Signals Trump To Go When He Loses

The U.S. Senate clapped back (in a nonbinding way) at aspiring autocrat Donald "Mango Mussolini" Trump's assertion that he might not respect the results of the November election. The Senate resolution passed this afternoon by unanimous consent (pdf here).  Here's the key language:

"Resolved, That the Senate—

"1) reaffirms its commitment to the orderly and peaceful transfer of power called for in the Constitution of the United States; and

"(2) intends that there should be no disruptions by the President or any person in power to overturn the will of the people of the United States."

Maybe, now that they have their sixth Supreme Court justice all but seated, they feel they can cut COVID Donnie loose?

On the other hand, we know that Moscow Mitch's word can be trusted.
