U.S. Crosses 200,000 COVID Deaths Threshhold

The grim barometer of malignant existential threat Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump's continuing depraved indifference to the spread of the coronavirus has reached 200,000 deaths.  He recently tried to blame the "blue states" for the ballooning death toll, though it was his incompetence that led to a lack of a national plan and response, preferring to hand off responsibility to governors while not exercising the powers of his office to provide the necessary equipment to protect first responders and the general public. Meanwhile, the sociopath continues to hold his superspreader rallies, including one yesterday in a Wisconsin county with record- breaking COVID-19 cases.

Let's look at where the hot spots (deaths per 100,000) are today, thanks to his sociopathic abandonment of national leadership (click to enlarge):

 

If you'll note, those are all states that voted for COVID Donnie in 2016, and all but one have Republican governors.  He may not realize it, but a death is a death, whether it occurs in a "blue" or "red" state. And, most importantly going forward, it didn't have to be that way.
