Each day, we hit a new record of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Thursday's record of 163, 402 new cases, with 67,906 hospitalizations, marks six of the last nine days that we've posted records. It was just eight days ago that we first reached 100,000 new cases of the virus. Multiple state are reimposing restrictions on restaurants, bars, and other businesses, limiting the number of people they can serve as the virus spreads unchecked. Chicago issued a 30 day stay-at-home advisory, asking residents to cancel Thanksgiving plans as the pandemic causes area hospitals to reach capacity for intensive care units and medical personnel.
Meanwhile, delusional sociopath and impeached one-termer Donald "COVID Donnie" Trump has bailed out on his job, focusing on his grievances and texting lies about voter fraud and a stolen election, interspersed with rounds of golf. From the Washington Post:

Neither he nor his aides briefed reporters on the news of the day or reacted to Democratic leaders who accused Republicans of imperiling the pandemic response by 'refusing to accept reality' over the election results." (our emphasis)
Trump's been bunkered away in the White (Supremacist) House for days, only venturing out Wednesday to show up almost 30 minutes late to the wreath laying at Arlington Cemetery's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (the timing was important: the ceremony was to begin exactly at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month, symbolizing the end of World War I). He left after a few minutes without speaking to the rain-soaked crowd, to return to the White (Supremacist) House to watch cable programming and tweet out his growing, impotent rage.

Trump never intended to deal with the Covid pandemic. He knew it was going to explode and he at first hogged the lectern with daily briefs so America thought he was handling it. Behind the scenes, he was handcuffing state leaders by failing to procure or produce tests or PPEs. As things go worse, he gave up entirely and has embraced the madness of herd immunity. He believes that since he survived it, everyone will. Of course, he had immediate and comprehensive treatment. Most of us do not.
So when he leaves, if he ever does, he'll dump this disaster onto Biden, while claiming vindication for the vaccine. Trump is the most vile and disgusting piece of garbage ever to sit in the White House.He's responsible for the deaths of thousands of people.
donnah -- In his twisted mind, the more he can mess things up for President-elect Biden the better. Of course that means illness and deaths, economic ruin for many, and broken institutions.
And we will be trying to explain in 2 and 4 years to our Repub friends and relatives that the exploding virus and economic devastation was on Trump's watch not Biden's. They will tell us we are getting fake news. It will be Deja vu all over again.
