Stolen Election, Arizona Rethug Style?

One of the culprits behind demagogue and neo-fascist sociopath Donald "Mango Mussolini" Trump's "Stop the Steal" election "integrity" charade was right-wing crank and perennial Arizonan political candidate Kelli "Psycho" Ward. Ward, the current chair of the Arizona Republican Party -- collection of Trump-worshiping cultists -- was elected in a very close election to the chairmanship last Saturday. So it's delicious schadenfreude that Ward's own election is being challenged by a losing candidate

"Sergio Arellano, a Pima County small business owner who lost to Ward by 42 votes, requested a recount of all state party races on Monday, he told The Washington Post. More than two days later, he said, Arizona state party leaders — who report to Ward — have not yet scheduled the audit, which was first reported by the Arizona Republic.

'It shouldn’t be a big deal. If her core No. 1 issue is election integrity, then it should be a nonissue,' he said in an interview. 'It should be transparent, expeditious, and let’s move on.' (our emphasis)

Her "core No. 1 issue" has never been and never will be "election integrity". It's all about perpetuating the stolen election "big lie" of Trumpworld, and grabbing power for herself in a fractured Arizona Republican Party.

Ward was first noticed on the political radar screen when she ran a despicable primary campaign against the late Sen. John McCain, who was suffering from terminal cancer. After losing that race, she challenged then-Sen. Jeff Flake in 2018 for not being sufficiently far to the right in Trump's camp, losing that contest, too. Her most recent "achievements" were overseeing the loss of Arizona to President Joe Biden, and losing Martha McSally's seat to Dem Sen, Mark Kelly. Not knowing when to quit dividing the party she leads, she got her party organization to censure Cindy McCain, Flake and Republican Gov. Doug Ducey for insufficient fealty to Dear Leader Trump. We suspect her losing record will continue, perhaps even in her own recent election.
