Even as hope for mass vaccination rises, the brutal reality of lives lost in America, and indeed throughout the world, can't be overstated.  We've now passed an awful milestone here:

The United States leads the world in total number of cases and deaths in a single country.  It should go without saying whose malicious, sociopathic incompetence led to the shameful, unnecessary loss of so many of those lives.  It should never have been acceptable to have a warped narcissist in a position to contribute to such devastation in the first place.  But he was, and here we are.
