Wisconsinites have more reason today than ever to be deeply ashamed of their far-right conspiracy-pushing, bigoted Senator, Ron "Tiny" Johnson, a.k.a. RonAnon. Johnson, who's been pushing his Dear Leader's Big Lie about the election and gaslighting the January 6 violent insurrection, was interviewed on a right-wing talk radio show and had this to say about the seditionists involved that day:
“'I knew those are people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, so I wasn’t concerned. [snip]
Now, had the tables been turned ... and President Trump won the election and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned.'" (our emphasis)
"Truly respect law enforcement." The toll for that day on which the insurrectionists rioted included a police officer dead, and some 140 injured, with injuries ranging from concussions to loss of an eye. Two police officers committed suicide following the riot. The overwhelmingly white seditionist rioters called the police "traitors" as they assaulted them. And yet, white supremacist Johnson wasn't concerned about them. On other hand, seeing a crowd of people of color and young people carrying "BLM" banners and chanting, that would have scared the bejebus out of racist RonAnon.
This is more than saying the quiet, racist thing out loud. This is reversing the roles of seditionist domestic terrorists with people demanding equal justice. Johnson knows exactly what he's doing, and the people of Wisconsin should too.
