Sen. Ron Johnson's Latest Disgrace

Wisconsinites have more reason today than ever to be deeply ashamed of their far-right conspiracy-pushing, bigoted Senator, Ron "Tiny" Johnson, a.k.a. RonAnon. Johnson, who's been pushing his Dear Leader's Big Lie about the election and gaslighting the January 6 violent insurrection, was interviewed on a right-wing talk radio show and had this to say about the seditionists involved that day:

“'I knew those are people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, so I wasn’t concerned. [snip]

Now, had the tables been turned ... and President Trump won the election and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned.'"  (our emphasis)

"Truly respect law enforcement." The toll for that day on which the insurrectionists rioted included a police officer dead, and some 140 injured, with injuries ranging from concussions to loss of an eye. Two police officers committed suicide following the riot. The overwhelmingly white seditionist rioters called the police "traitors" as they assaulted them. And yet, white supremacist Johnson wasn't concerned about them. On other hand, seeing a crowd of people of color and young people carrying "BLM" banners and chanting, that would have scared the bejebus out of racist RonAnon.

This is more than saying the quiet, racist thing out loud. This is reversing the roles of seditionist domestic terrorists with people demanding equal justice. Johnson knows exactly what he's doing, and the people of Wisconsin should too.

Latest dispatch from the Badger state. Alex Lasry ( son of Milwaukee bucks owner Marc Lasry) is making noises about running as a democrat against Johnson. Outside of Milwaukee and Madison he doesn't stand a chance but here's hoping. Funny how history has been re written here. No one knows who fighting Bob Lafollette is anymore, but they still get teary eyed dreaming about Scott Walker. Makes my gorge rise. Keep me in your thoughts, getting together with some friends tonight at a brewery in Mequon Wi. I'm sure Ron "telling it like it is"
Will be a hot topic. Maybe I'll have a go fund me page for my bail tomorrow morning.

Good luck. I'm from Ohio, as in Gym Jordan, but Ron Johnson rules as Racist Admitting Racism Out Loud. Stay safe!

Johnson is simply adopting the Trump stance.

It worked for Trump, so Johnson is giving it a try. He is, and will not, be the last GOP candidate to look at what Trump did and try to do the same thing. They will do it as long as they keep winning elections doing it.

In some ways, it's a mistake to call out Johnson as a racist. He might be, he might not. Maybe he's just an asshole and if this is what it takes to get elected, so be it. I'm actually inclined to go with the asshole angle as the primary. Because even if he were racist, if saying those things would not get him elected, he would NOT say those things.

We get the politicians we deserve, I'm afraid.

seafury -- We still have hope for Wisconsin. Johnson is making noises that he may not run in 2022, having pledged to only serve two terms. Then again, he lies. As you hoist one or more in Mequon, you have our best wishes.

donnah -- Ohio's got a real fruitcake cultist in Gym. Our state (MD) has nut Andy Harris, who wanted to bring a gun on the floor of the House a few weeks ago, but we're also represented by the great Jamie Raskin.
