Pic: Biden's Summit Draws World Leaders

As we noted in our post yesterday, President Biden hosted the first day of the Leaders Summit on Climate, with 40 countries represented, including Russia and China. Despite some technical glitches customary with large Zoom meetings, each nation had an opportunity to present its climate goals and to discuss progress against those goals.

Biden announced that the U.S. will establish a goal of 50 - 52% reduction in carbon emissions below its 2005 emission levels by 2030. The goals represent the U.S.'s reentering the Paris Climate Agreement, which the destructive "former guy" withdrew from.
