Reports late yesterday that skeevy sexual predator and die-hard Trump cultist Rep. Matt Gaetz (Secessionist-FL) requested the "former guy" issue a blanket Presidential pardon to him and unnamed Congressional colleagues only adds to the burgeoning scandal he finds himself in:
"Representative Matt Gaetz, Republican of Florida, was one of President Donald J. Trump’s most vocal allies during his term, publicly pledging loyalty and even signing a letter nominating the president for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In the final weeks of Mr. Trump’s term, Mr. Gaetz sought something in return. He privately asked the White House for blanket pre-emptive pardons for himself and unidentified congressional allies for any crimes they may have committed, according to two people told of the discussions."
In legal terms, Gaetz's preemptive pardon request can be considered evidence of "consciousness of guilt". Last summer, Gaetz's close friend and social wing man Joel Greenberg was indicted on child sex-trafficking, prompting a separate investigation into Gaetz, something which the right-wing Florida Congressman must have been aware of. It was around that time that associates of Gaetz were being questioned about his involvement with Greenberg.
The "former guy's" lawyers declined to recommend a pardon for Gaetz allegedly because of the precedent it would set, even though there was no one more slavishly loyal than Gaetz. What would be interesting to know is who were the colleagues of Gaetz who were hoping for a blanket pardon, as the Times reports? Die-hard Trumpist and sexual abuse coverup guy Rep. "Gym" Jordon (Secessionist-OH) is our number one suspect. We'll be watching with interest as this unravels.
