The sun shining on a parking lot in Hagerstown, MD last week created a memorable image of the shadows of traffic cones and people waiting for hours for no-appointment vaccinations. Of all the people waiting in line, only 200 received a vaccination before the doses ran out, illustrating the uneven distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations. The spoiling of 15 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccination last month has been a major factor in shortages nationwide. Despite that fact, some 117 million Americans have received at least one dose, and 70.6 million are fully vaccinated as of yesterday, per the CDC.
