After weeks of delay, CNN has severed its relationship with former Senator and right-wing bigot / pundit Rick "Frothy Mix" Santorum. Last month Santorum had denigrated Native American culture by saying "there was nothing here" when white colonists arrived, and that "there isn't much Native American culture in American culture." It's just the most recent slur in a history of bigoted spewings, on everything from same-sex marriage, to women's reproductive rights, to "Obamacare". That CNN hired him as a far-right pundit in the first place is mind-boggling, given his history.
There will be cries from the right about what they call "cancel culture," which is actually "consequences culture," or "accountability culture." It's been so long that right-wingers have regarded themselves as accountable for anything that they're offended now when they face the consequences of their words and actions. Welcome to the real world.
