Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, 92, currently has a retrospective exhibit at Berlin's Gropius Bau Museum. She's the most popular female artist in the world, as judged by the sales of her art. Her White No. 28 from 1960 sold for $7.1 million at a Christie's auction in 2014.
A pop art / abstract expressionist, she is known for her use of polka dots in most of her works, which are displayed in galleries around the world, including New York's Museum of Modern Art, and London's Tate Modern Art Gallery.
