Trumpist Capitol insurrectionist Robert Reeder thought he beaten the system yesterday when, just before a plea deal that might have set him free, video evidence of him assaulting a police officer emerged courtesy of the commendable #SeditionHunters group.
Reeder had pled guilty to a single misdemeanor charge of "parading, demonstrating and picketing" the Capitol, and Federal prosecutors were about to ask for two months' jail time because Reeder had shown no remorse for his actions. Then, just hours before the hearing, evidence was produced showing Reeder's additional crime:
We are extremely good at what we do, our small group has spent thousands of hours on research. Yet only 4 hours before a court hearing for a plea deal for Robert Reeder do we find the assault. This truly is a massive undertaking! Did we make it in time? #WeHope pic.twitter.com/lzV7P9tw7H

Now, with evidence of Reeder attacking police officers, Federal District Judge Thomas Hogan delayed Reeder's sentencing until October 8 to consider what additional charges Federal prosecutors might bring (assault, obstructing or impeding officers, etc.) and to pronounce sentence.
Private citizen sleuths, and patriotic groups like #SeditionHunters, have provided documentation and identification of hundreds of the January 6 seditionists, and as this case shows, their work thankfully continues.
