Tracking Down The Insurrectionists: What Ya Gonna Do When They Come For You

Two Seattle police officers, the husband and wife duo of Alexander and Caitlin Everett, were fired yesterday after an internal investigation revealed that they had participated in the Trumpist insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.  Seattle's police chief made the announcement of the firing:

"Announcing his decision to fire the Everetts, interim police chief Adrian Diaz said in a statement that evidence shows the officers standing next to the Capitol within barriers established by the Capitol Police during the violent siege to disrupt certification President Biden’s election. The Everetts told investigators they were 30 to 50 yards away and did not witness the assault.

'It is beyond absurd to suggest that they did not know they were in an area where they should not be, amidst what was already a violent, criminal riot,' Diaz said.

'These two officers were present at an attack on the U.S. Capitol, which was also an attack on our profession and on every officer across the country,' he added."  (our emphasis)

Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died as a result of injuries suffered on January 6, and four other officers died later by suicide as a result of the trauma they suffered. A number of off-duty police officers have been charged with participating in the violent insurrection, violating their oath of office.

The Everetts aren't strangers to behavior contrary to their oaths of office, as this graphic suggests (click to enlarge):

While the FBI's list of insurrectionists charged to date doesn't include the Everetts yet, the fact that they breached police lines at the Capitol during the riot should be enough of a start.
