January 6 Conspirator Declines To Cooperate With Congress

Jeffrey Clark, the Justice Department employee who did his best to overturn democracy at the behest of malignant loser and deranged demagogue Donald "Loser" Trump, yesterday declined to answer questions from the House select committee investigating the January 6 Trumpist insurrection. Following the lead of stonewalling derelict impersonator and Trumpist stooge Steve "Loose Cannon" Bannon, Clark appeared before the committee and claimed both executive and attorney-client privilege in refusing to answer the committee's questions, in contrast to his Justice Department superior's willingness to testify, specifically former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue.

Clark, a Trump true believer, sought to enlist the power of the Justice Department to interfere in the lawful certification of the election, something Trump asked Rosen to do, and which Rosen declined. Clark had drafted a letter claiming that the FBI had found evidence of voter fraud in various states, a lie that was being peddled by Trump and his inner circle.

Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) vowed to give Clark a small window to change his mind before taking "strong measures to hold him accountable." That recalls the referral from his committee that is still awaiting action by the Justice Department, namely Bannon's criminal contempt citation for prosecution in a case that's so obvious one wonders why Attorney General Merrick Garland hasn't lit a fire under his prosecutors.
