New Jersey resident and daytime accused snake oil doc Mehmet Oz is running for the Republican nomination for Senate in Pennsylvania. He's started popping up in various places in Pennsylvania (see fourth tweet in post below), likely for the first time. He also is trying to drum up bogus issues since he can't speak to issues that actual Pennsylvanians care about (did we mention he lives in New Jersey?). The latest is a manufactured tiff with the Philadelphia Inquirer, the city's largest paper, which failed to use his title of "Dr." in a recent piece (as they explained to him, they treat all professional titles the same, according to their style guide: use it initially, then drop it). As the Inquirer's editorial writer Abe Gutman pointed out, Val Arkoosh, MD, a Democrat running for the Senate seat, is treated the same way.
The great and mighty whiner Oz knows the best way to get ahead in the Republican / New Confederate / Active Shooter's party is to push culture war issues, and "cancelling" talk is one of their proven ways to appeal to their base's sense of grievance against "elites." He's been a regular guest on various Fux Channel poo-flings, which allows him to push his nonsense unquestioned and encouraged.
In reality, the title that Oz is more concerned with is "carpetbagger," which may spell the doom of his nomination quest. We suspect most Pennsylvanians resent someone parachuting into their state from New Jersey to tell them how much he likes their beer and also vote for me, "Dr." or no "Dr."
