"If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off.” -- Better.com's CEO Vishal Garg in a December 1 Zoom call with 900 "unlucky" employees, terminating their employment "effective immediately." Following mass resignations of the company's top management, on December 7 Garg apologized for the crass act and announced he was taking a leave of absence from his position at the digital mortgage lender.
Of course, in a *better* world, Garg would be the one terminated and the 900 "unlucky" employees would have a livelihood going into 2022.
