In an interview on CNN earlier this week, Capitol-storming MAGA goon and racist "Proud Boy" insurrectionist Josh Pruitt was asked if he'd still attack the Capitol, given the multiple charges he's facing:
"So you asked me if I'd do it again? I want to say yes. I don't feel I did anything wrong but knowing the consequences that came out of it would be the part that would make me question it."
In other words, if he could get away with it next time, he'd do it. It's that calculating lack of remorse, on top of multiple curfew and conditions violations, that has the Department of Justice asking U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly to revoke his pre-trial release and place him in custody.
Pruitt was identified along with "Proud Boy" thug Dominic Pezzola as having stormed the Capitol on January 6 confronting police officers and throwing a "Quiet Please" sign. He's no first-timer with the law, either. He was on probation in both Georgia and Maryland on other charges, and was actually wearing a court-ordered GPS ankle monitor during the attack on the Capitol. The DOJ is informing Judge Kelly that Pruitt violated his conditions of release by violating the 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew imposed, making threats to others, and after a domestic dispute at his residence. "Prosecutors said pretrial services and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C. have also received multiple reports about Pruitt engaging in threatening behavior over social media platforms. In various messages, Pruitt allegedly threatened to put someone 'six feet under' and said in another, in reference to the rounds in a Glock-19, that, 'I have 30 friends waiting for you.' In still another message, prosecutors say, he warned, '[Expletive] around and watch your pulse disappear princess.'” (our emphasis)
What is shocking is that this habitual criminal (19 previous arrests, 8 convictions!) with a demonstrated violent streak was not held in jail upon his arrest last year for the Capitol riot. That error can be remedied by Judge Kelly putting him behind bars until his trial date comes up.
