Lying Liars And Their Lies, Ron Johnson Edition

Wisconsin's shame, the half-baked Trump toady Sen. Ron "Tiny" Johnson, told us in 2016 that the Senate race that year would be his last, self-limiting his Senate career to two terms. But it was Ron Johnson, so he lied. Earlier today, appearing on fellow Trump toady Maria Bartoromo's poo-fest, Johnson tried to explain his lying and breaking his pledge in a truly Orwellian fashion:

"There are many factors. It wasn't an easy decision. But I think probably the easiest way to put it is that I love America dearly. I love the American people. I love the folks in Wisconsin and I think this country is in trouble. I think Democrats in power in Washington have put us on a very dangerous path and I think I'm in a position to help improve things."  (our emphasis)

It's in trouble because of Johnson and his Trumpian ilk on the far right, who want to turn this country into an authoritarian, minority-ruled state, not Democrats putting us on a "very dangerous path" (what, like infrastructure improvements, affordable health care, social justice and voting rights?). Johnson's ludicrous projection continued:

"We need the truth and unfortunately the truth is being censored today at an alarming, very disconcerting rate. And so, I'm just one of those truth-tellers. I ask tough questions, I try and get answers. But when I tell the truth, the truths that the media elite, the governing elite don't want to hear, I get censored, I get attacked, I get vilified but it doesn't deter me. And I think we need people who are willing to seek the truth."  (our emphasis)

That's rich, being pathological liar Donald "Loser" Trump's most loyal toady for the last five years, and after saying he's running after pledging that he wouldn't. Johnson's been one of the Senate's leading spreaders of lies about the election and the COVID pandemic, so his re-election in purple Wisconsin would be a disgrace to that state of epic proportions.
