As has been reported in the past week, the Malignant Loser had a habit of illegally shredding his official papers, after multiple warnings from his legal counsel and staff that it violated the Presidential Papers Act. It's yet another sign of his contempt for the law and his obsession with secrecy ( e.g., like his demand that White House staff sign non-dislosure agreements). New reporting today indicates that he also had boxes of Presidential records at his "Merde O'Lardo" estate in Florida:
"President Donald Trump improperly removed multiple boxes from the White House that were retrieved by the National Archives and Records Administration last month from his Mar-a-Lago residence because they contained documents and other items that should have been turned over to the agency, according to three people familiar with the visit.
The recovery of the boxes from Trump’s Florida resort raises new concerns about his adherence to the Presidential Records Act, which requires the preservation of memos, letters, notes, emails, faxes and other written communications related to a president’s official duties." (our emphasis)
We can only imagine what documents, etc. he trundled off to his estate, and how many of them he actually turned over to the records agency. There's one group of documents that he was surely proud of:
"Trump advisers deny any nefarious intent and said the boxes contained mementos, gifts, letters from world leaders and other correspondence. The items included correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which Trump once described as 'love letters'...." (our emphasis)
"Love letters" between two delusional authoritarians must be packed with passion and considerable narcissism. The Malignant Loser's interpersonal and foreign relations were always on an emotionally fragile "does he or she like me?" basis. So if Kim Jong Un's letters were important to the Malignant Loser, imagine what letters / mementos / gifts from his idol Vladimir Putin are to him. We won't see those for a while, if ever.
