Trumper seditionist Rep. Madison Cawthorn (Sedition-NC) is in trouble with the law again. He was pulled over by the North Carolina Highway Patrol a week ago and charged with driving with a revoked license. It was yet another violation for the "rules don't apply to me" far-right insurrectionist. According to reports:
"Along with being pulled over on a revoked license, Cawthorn has two pending citations for speeding in Buncombe and Polk counties.
According to the citation, Cawthorn was pulled over last Thursday near Shelby, N.C., when a trooper saw his 2019 Toyota truck cross over the center line of the road. At the time, the weather was clear and traffic was light, according to the citation. [snip]
In the prior speeding incidents, Cawthorn was said to be driving 89 mph in a 65 mph zone and 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. [snip]
As the newspaper reported, Cawthorn was previously charged with driving after having his license taken away before he was elected to the House in 2017. The maximum sentence for driving without a license is 20 days in jail, though a fine or probation is usually issued instead."
Cawthorn, who was paralyzed as a result of a car accident as a teenager, has a checkered past, as noted in this February 2021 article in the WaPo: he's fabricated stories about the accident, and has been accused of being a sexual predator by 150 students at the private evangelical college he briefly attended. He was prominently featured as a speaker at the Malignant Loser's infamous "stop the steal" rally that turned into the assault on the Capitol on January 6. For that and his support of the insurrectionists, Cawthorn was challenged by a lawsuit that would make him ineligible to run for Congress under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment which bars those who've taking an oath to support the Constitution and then engaged in insurrection. A Federal judge appointed by the Malignant Loser ruled last week that the language in the Amendment has been superseded by a 1872 law granting amnesty to Confederate combatants. It's unclear whether an appeal will be made.
BONUS: True to Trumpist form, Cawthorn was caught in a video calling heroic Ukrainian President Zelensky a "thug."
