Biden tops list of Americans banned from traveling to Russia, but Trump is not on it
"Over the years, Trump has praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and criticized investigations into Russia's interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election that ended with Trump's victory over Democratic rival Clinton.Trump was impeached in 2019 for withholding congressionally appropriated military aid to Ukraine while pressuring that country's then-newly elected president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to announce investigations into Joe Biden, who at the time was the leading Democratic candidate for the White House."
Trump is all about himself and money, so one can safely bet that his primary interest in keeping thug and war criminal Putin happy with him was all about commercial deals in Russia (Trump Tower Moscow, a Trump Tower St. Petersburg, a Trump Golf Club Sochi, etc.). Trump saw his future fortunes in Russia, where a strongman ruler like Putin could reward him for undermining NATO and Americans' faith in their own government to the point of insurrection. With unlimited resources from fossil fuel sales and no land use or building regulations / rules to stand in the way, Putin could offer (and likely did) the Malignant Loser billions in "deals" in Mother Russia for his post-Presidency if he just did his bidding on the international stage. It almost worked.
