Detroit/ Ann Arbor's singer/ songwriter/ blue collar roots rocker Bob Seger is celebrating his 77th birthday today. A Songwriter- and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Seger came to that fame the hard way, playing for years in local and regional venues before getting a national hit in 1969 (Ramblin' Gamblin' Man). Although best known for his hard- driving rockers, one of our favorites is his beautiful, often- covered 1978 ballad, "We've Got Tonight." Seger used it in his live set list as a tribute to his late mother, since it was one of her favorite compositions. So, it can also serve as our Mother's Day weekend song, too. Hope you enjoy.
