Biden's Visit To Saudi Arabia

After his visit to Israel concludes, President Biden will travel to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to meet with leaders in the region to discuss security and economic issues, and more. He undoubtedly will be asking the Saudis and other Persian Gulf states to produce more oil to counteract the reduction in oil supplies due to the embargo on Russia, the most serious contributor to inflation in the U.S. and western democracies. Expect the oil producers to resist any call for increased production in an effort to lower prices. There will likely be discussions with the Saudis about their increasing military ties to China, and their refusal to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Saudis, led by the notorious Crown Prince Mohammed bin "Bone Saw" Salman, have not been shy about expressing their preference for the Malignant Loser and his authoritarian style and false bravado against Iran. That support coming despite the fact that he failed to act when Iranian missiles struck a Saudi oil facility in 2019. When the Malignant Loser made Saudi Arabia his first official foreign visit in 2017, they feted him with an over the top welcome, including a sword dance and massive banners welcoming him.

The Saudi regime will never embrace democracy, and we should maintain whatever relations we have with them on a purely transactional basis. Their latest "sword dance" with Russia and China demonstrates they would just as soon stab us in the back as sell us a barrel of oil.
