Singer/songwriter/musician Amanda Shires writes songs with vivid, evocative imagery -- which makes sense considering she has an MFA in Poetry from the University of the South. She also has a hard- to- categorize musical style (Americana, with some folk and rock?). Her latest album, "Take It Like A Man," is also the title of her recent single, a live studio session featuring her husband Jason Isbell, formerly of Drive By Truckers, on guitar).
