Trump Judge Grants Him A "Special Master"

Trump-appointed Federal judge Aileen Cannon bowed today to the Malignant Loser's stall tactic of appointing a "special master" to review the hundreds of classified and other documents in DOJ's possession for possible attorney-client privilege after the search of his Mar-a-Lago estate. It's worth noting that an FBI "filter team" has already done that, but that didn't stop the judge from putting on the brakes temporarily for her benefactor.

According to the Associated Press:

"The order came despite the strenuous objections of the Justice Department, which said an outside legal expert was not necessary in part because officials had already completed their review of potentially privileged documents.

The appointment appears likely to slow the pace of the department’s investigation into the presence of top-secret information at Mar-a-Lago, particularly given the judge’s directive that the Justice Department may not for the moment use any of the seized materials as part of its investigation into the storage of government secrets at the Florida property." (our emphasis)

So, mission accomplished for the Malignant Loser, whose typical legal strategy involves stalling a plaintiff until the matter is overtaken by events (the 2024 election for example). Also, taking legal briefs to friendly judges whom he's appointed. The intelligence community will be able to continue its assessment of damage done to U.S. security by the mishandling of the classified material. The Justice Department has the option to appeal to the 11th Circuit Court, but hasn't announced their next move yet.
