Alternative pop-rock band Japanese Breakfast, headed by lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Michelle Zauner, has gained well-deserved recognition for their work. Their 2021 album "Jubilee" was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album. Zauner, who's Korean-American, has been an advocate for ending the recent right-wing wave of violence against Asian-Americans, and has had her essays appear in such publications as Harper's Bazaar and The New Yorker. Here, just released days ago, they cover Brandi Carlile's 2007 single "The Story" (the North Face branding is part of their latest marketing campaign). Enjoy.
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true, I was made for you
