A number of statements from President Biden and his aides and allies indicate that he'll announce another run for the Presidency in 2024, with a formal announcement by April, according to reports. He said in November that "our intention is to run again" and dismisses polls that show that most Americans don't want him (or the Malignant Loser, for that matter) to run again in 2024, suggesting that his age (82 if reelected) and overall condition are a concern. He's said he will listen to those "closest to him" over the holidays before making a decision:
"Biden is expected to discuss the prospect of another campaign with those closest to him when he departs Washington for a Christmas vacation. If he opts for an announcement next year, he would launch a campaign during a time when his approval ratings remain low and inflation is high. The steady easing of the pandemic, meanwhile, would add pressure on the president to appear in person before large crowds, an environment where he’s sometimes unsteady." (our emphasis)
No one expects those closest to him will discourage him from running for any reason, especially staff who are invested in him running. Indeed, Dr. Jill Biden has reportedly shifted from being ambivalent to being a supporter of a 2024 run by her husband. In March 2020, President Biden referred to himself as a "bridge candidate" to a new generation of Dem leaders, who now include Govs. Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Josh Shapiro (PA), Gavin Newsom (CA), the Vice President, and various Senators and numerous others in and out of politics. He's now on the verge of telling the "new generation" to take a seat for now.
The success of the Dems in turning back the Republican / New Confederate / Seditionist party's neo-fascist "Red Wave" certainly gives President Biden confidence going into 2024, and it should. Not that it would change his apparent determinate to plow ahead with a campaign, but he should be listening to others (including, realistically, his physician), and not just those "close to him," be it family or aides. Should he run, we expect the vast majority who voted for him in 2020 -- 81 million of us -- will vote for him again, especially since he'll almost certainly be running against either the Malignant Loser or a more adept and dangerous clone.
