Heard this on satellite radio the other day -- Welsh singer Mary Hopkin's "Ocean Song," from her 1971 album "Earth Song/Ocean Song." You may remember her as one of the first artists signed to the Beatles' Apple record label and for her first international hit, "Those Were The Days." But we can't let "Ocean Song" stand on its own, so here's the companion piece also: "Earth Song." Both songs, though they sound like traditional English/Welsh folk ballads, were written by American songwriter Liz Thorsen. Hope you enjoy.
